Mental Health Awareness
Weir Global
Mental Health Awareness training equips managers and other staff with the skills to identify potential mental health issues in members of their teams and respond appropriately with confidence.
The aim of this training is to raise mental health awareness and literacy, build empathy and understanding, and create a safe workplace culture for all employees.
Overview of course content:
Myth and stigma busting.
Mental Health continuum and evidenced-based protective factors
Prevalence and impact of common mental illnesses.
Signs, symptoms, and early intervention.
How to approach and begin a mental health conversation.
What to say and what not to say.
The importance of self-care, self-awareness, and relationship building.
Face-to-face, in-person delivery - 6 hours
Live online delivery using interactive methods via Zoom, or teams - x2 2.5-hour sessions
online delivery has proven to be an effective and engaging mode, however, there is some evidence of ‘zoom fatigue’ and so for the safety of all participants and facilitators, the course has been modified to fit into x2 2.5-hour sessions.
